Easy Patient Download

The Easy Patient Download section was primarily created for exporting encounter-level data grouped by Axiom Encounter ID into an Excel file for further use and analysis. This section allows hospital analysts to easily sort and download data for a specific group of patients. The Easy Patient Download section is similar to the Details section, but is only available at the patient level.

NOTE: The section must be unlocked to download data.

After formatting the section in Clinical Analytics, use the spreadsheet download button or the charges download button to download the data into Excel.

Filter Patient Data

Use the Add button and the dropdowns to filter patient data.

Columns

The Columns dropdown in the top right corner of the menu lets you choose columns to add and where to place them. This allows you to add more information to your table view, such as Account Number, Admit and Discharge Dates, Physician information, and so on.

Export data

When you are happy with the results of your search, you can download the data into Excel. If you have the system unlocked, you should see two icons in a bar below the section name. See Unlocking data for more information.

NOTE: This export is the only place in Clinical Analytics where you can filter on a secondary diagnosis code’s sequence and Present on Admission (POA) status for multiple patients at a time, which can be very useful for certain analyses.

You have three options for exporting your Easy Patient Download data table:

  • The blue Detail Charges button downloads a file containing all the charges associated with the list of encounters. The Charges file lists each individual charge, along with the encounter information, day of stay, cost, and physician information for the case. See Use Case - Detail Charge Export for more information and an example.
  • The green Excel icon downloads the table data in a spreadsheet along with three extra tabs. The next section explains further.
  • The blue CSV icon downloads the table data in the spreadsheet, like it would for the Details section.

See Export data for more information about exporting data from Clinical Analytics.
